When I was a child, my father would pick me up and clip my fingernails every week or two. It was a practical ritual that gave me a sense of being cared for. Pick Me Up (2024) is a set of five curved wooden forms, modeled after fingernail clippings. By picking them up and letting them go, repeatedly, the hands move through cycles of experience.
